Error: VeriSign Certificate Renewal fails with error "1005" at stage 500

Symptom:

A VeriSign Certificate renewal fails at stage 500 with the error: 0x1005

Cause:

This is an error returned from VeriSign because a user request for a certificate has the exact same Distinguished Name (DN) as an existing certificate.

Resolution:

Revoke the existing certificate through the VeriSign MPKI and retry the current stage of processing in Venafi Encryption Director.
