Symptom:

Certificate enrollment fails with error:

Certificate processing encountered an unexpected error. Error: The type initializer for ‘Venafi.Certificates.Authority.CA’ threw an exception.

Cause:

This issue is caused by an incompatible Certificate Authority driver. This is a result of upgrading from Director 8.0.1, 8.0.2 or 8.0.3 to Director 10 or 11.

Resolution:

We can remove the incompatible drivers by removing the following files from the file system.
Venafi\Drivers\CA\CAKeynectisSequoia.dll
Venafi\Drivers\CA\CAOpenTrustPKI.dll
