Error: HTTP 500.24 - Internal Server Error

Applies to:

Venafi Encryption Director 14.1 Venafi User Portal and later User Portal consoles

Symptom:

The following error is see when accessing the the user portal:

HTTP 500.24 - Internal Server Error
An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.

Cause:

The problem is the User Portal application pool had "ASP .Net Impersonation" set to "Enabled"

Resolution:

Do the following to resolve the issue:

1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Click on the Sites -> Venafi -> Portal -> Authentication
   
   
3. Set "ASP .Net Impersonation" = Disabled.
   
   
4. Restart the app pool or reset IIS (iisreset).
