Applies to:

Symptom was seen while upgrading from version 6.02 to 6.1.

Upgrading a Certificate Manger installation with the SSH, and Symmetric key manager products installed to the same server causes the Windows Administrator UI ( WinAdmin) to fail.

Cause:

While troubleshooting this symptom we compared the DLLs installed after fresh install of 6.1 with a server that had been recently upgraded from 6.02 to 6.1.

These dlls are installed in this folder, by default:

Troubleshooting:

Executing this command in the windows command line will show you a list files and the creation date of your server, so you can compare the above list to your server.

C:\Users\Administrator>dir "c:\Program Files\Venafi\Drivers\*.DLL " /S  -TC

Resolution:

To workaround this issue, find and delete the extra seven DLLS under the platforms folder.
