Cause

Director 6.0.2 adds new .NET policies that are not removed during uninstall. These policies cause problems for older versions of Director.

Resolution

  1. Remove the .NET policies added by Director 6.0.2 by deleting the following registry keys:

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fusion\PublisherPolicy\Default\v4.0_Policy.5.3.Venafi.Core.Bootstrap__018fec76820cced1

    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fusion\PublisherPolicy\Default\v4.0_Policy.5.3.Venafi.Core__018fec76820cced1
  2. Run the Director installer and remove Director

  3. Re-install Director
