Summary:

Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)

Director Certificate Manager supports FIPS only on Windows 2008 R2 FIPS-validated servers.

Director Certificate Manager is not supported on Windows 2003 FIPS-validated servers.

Note: Venafi Encryption Director FIPS support is a premium feature that can be licensed separately.

Venafi Director 6.0.2 supports the installation of Director on a FIPS compliant Windows 2008 R2 server. If you have questions about special circumstances please contact support@venafi.com

FIPS Application Support

Venafi encryption director supports the use of some FIPS compliant applications such as:

1. BIG-IP F5
2. DataPower
3. NetScaler

The application objects create the certificate and private key in accordance with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS). This setting ensures the certificate that is installed on the current application or appliance meets the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS).

Important: The application or appliance must have the FIPS module where applicable.
