Error: WinUI hangs when logging in.

Symptom

The Venafi Windows Administration Console (WinUI) hangs when a user is attempting to log in and Venafi Director is configured to use Windows Authentication for the MSSQL database connection.

Cause

One possible cause for this issue is due to permission issues when using Windows Authentication for the database connection.

Resolution

The Windows Authentication option for the MSSQL database connection attempts to use the credentials of the currently logged-in user to make the database connection. As a result, that user must have db_datareader and db_datawriter permissions.
