Error: sysutcdatetime is not a recognized built-in function name

Symptom:

I get the error "Msg 195, Level 15, State 10, Line 123
'sysutcdatetime' is not a recognized built-in function name." when running the upgrade script from 11 to 14.1.

Cause:

Attempting the upgrade from 11 to 14 or higher and the MSSQL database is MSSQL 2005. The sysutcdatetime is not a command that exists in SQL 2005.

Resolution:

Upgrade your MSSQL database to a supported database version 2008 and 2012.
