Symptom:

Certificate processing fails at stage 500.

Certificate in in error status “Post CSR Failed with error: 30f7”.

or "Invalid Domain Name for Extended Validation SSL(0x30f7)"

Cause:

Invalid EV Domain. Certificate Common Name or domain name specified in the Subject Alternative Names is not registered as an Extended Validation domain.

Resolution:

Check the Common Name and Subject Alt Name entries for the certificate object.  More information can be found in the following VeriSign knowledge base article SO5924.

Another issue could be that you are trying to use a wildcard against an EV template which is not supported by the CA, see this document from Symantec which confirms this No support for EV Wildcard
