Error: "Failed to read configuration, please check setup" at stage 500

About:

When enrolling a certificate, you get an error "Failed to read configuration, please check setup" at stage 500

Cause:

Microsoft Certificate Authority (MSCA) Templates were updated in Venafi Trust Protection Platform 14.2 to require a credential object.  In previous versions this username and password was provided at installation.  In 14.2 it is now configured on the MSCA Template object in the Venafi policy tree.

Resolution:

Create a new username credential object with the the username and password that Venafi Trust Protection Platform needs to use to communicate with the MSCA and click "Retry" on the certificate.

Note: this update will need to be performed on all of your Microsoft CA template objects
