VENAFI SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR (VSA) COURSE

For Venafi TrustAuthority & TrustForce for SSL/TLS

Summary:

Certification course for individuals who want to become proficient as administrators of the Venafi TrustAuthority & TrustForce for SSL/TLS.

This course is intended IT Professionals who want to become proficient at installing, configuring, and administering the Venafi Trust Protection Platform in an enterprise environment.  Course participants must achieve 80% or higher on exam in order to attain VSA certification.

Course Length:

16 hours including lecture, labs, and exam.

Delivery Methods:

  • Instructor onsite – up to 12 students per session
  • Instructor-led at Venafi Salt Lake City, Utah Office

Cost:

$15,000 (includes travel) or $2,000 per person plus travel

Topics:

This is a structured two-day course that includes lecture, examples, labs, and a timed certification examination. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Database configuration (if applicable)
  • Installation (if applicable)
  • Logging configuration and third party integration
  • Notification configuration
  • External Identity Integration (LDAP/Active Directory)
  • Enterprise network discovery scan
  • Certificate Authority - Certificate Import
  • TrustAuthority policy enforcement of corporate security standards
  • Enrollment/Revocation integration to Certificate Authorities
  • Automate installation of certificates on supported applications
  • Approvals and scripting into automated workflows
  • Rights for access control
  • Certificate Revocation Checking
  • Certificate Revocation List (CRL) Verification
  • Smartcard Authentication
  • Certificate Whitelisting (Trust Store Management)
  • Aperture Console & Lost & Found Setup
  • End User Portal Setup (if applicable)
  • Applying product updates (if applicable)
  • Automating provisioning certificates to devices
  • Permissions
  • Custom fields
  • TrustNet (if applicable)
  • Venafi updater (if applicable)

Students will perform lab exercises on their computers by accessing servers on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using their browser.
