Error: [AD Identity Provider] encountered a error preparing to connect to [DC Server]:0, error message: Access is denied.

AD Identity Driver and IIS 7

Symptom

WebAdmin(VedAdmin) fails to authenticate AD users. However WinAdmin will authenticate the same users. 

Cause

After modifying the AD binding account used or the password. Restarting services will allow the vPlatform and WinAdmin to load the AD Identity provider. However it appears that IIS can cache the credential being used in some cases. This results in it using incorrect passwords or an incorrect username. 

Resolution

The cache that IIS is using will clear on a system level reboot.
