Error: "The database cannot be used. You must first update the database schema version to 18.x" message is displayed when editing the Database settings

Venafi Trust Protection Platform versions 18.1 to 18.2

Symptom:

When using Venafi Configuration Console (VCC) to edit the Database settings, you receive the following error:

SQL connection data verification failed: The database cannot be used. You must first update the database schema version to 18.x"

Cause:

Generally, this error actually points to a problem with the database credentials entered. The error is usually misleading.

NOTE: This is fixed in Venafi Trust Protection Platform 18.3.

Resolution:

To get past this error:

1. Verify the credentials entered into the Venafi Configuration Console and try again
