When Director Certificate Manager provisions certificates or conducts an On-board Validation on an IIS 6.x or 7.x web server, the user account Director uses to authenticate with the server must be a Windows Administrator.
To enable Director Certificate Manager to renew certificates on IIS 6 servers, you must grant Remote Access rights to the System user.
To grant Remote Access rights to the System user:
Click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Component Services.
Under Component Services, select Computers > My Computer > DCOM Config.
Select IIS CertObj, right-click, then select Properties.
Select the Security tab.
Click Edit under Access Permissions.
- Select the System user and allow Remote Access rights.
