Install certificate failed with error: Server execution failed (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE))

Cause:

Resolution:

When Director Certificate Manager provisions certificates or conducts an On-board Validation on an IIS 6.x or 7.x web server, the user account Director uses to authenticate with the server must be a Windows Administrator.

To grant Remote Access rights to the System user:

  1. Click Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Component Services.
  2. Under Component Services, select Computers > My Computer > DCOM Config.
  3. Select IIS CertObj, right-click, then select Properties.
  4. Select the Security tab.
  5. Click Edit under Access Permissions.
  6. Select the System user and allow Remote Access rights.
